    Default Fuse Size?

Can someone tell me what size fuse is safe to use on a 12 volt trolling motor?

Read the specifications for the "current" the motor uses, I'd go a tad above that rating for the fuse.
If the motor is operating properly and that fuse blows, up it's rating a bit till ya got it working good.
Power-on surge might blow a fuse with the exact current rating, etc.
    Also, ask the mfg'r .........

Depends on what size the TM is.

It depends on the wire from the battery to the TM, not the size or voltage of the trolling motor.

The TM manual will spec the minimum breaker size. Your wire determines your maximum breaker size. If those don't work out, you need bigger wire. If you have #6 wire, you can use of 50 or 60A breaker. Any smaller wire and you need to stay with a smaller breaker.

You can use a smaller fuse too. It's acceptable to underfuse a wire if your equipment doesn't need a larger fuse.

Was runnin mine with a 30, kept blowin, switched to a 50 and clear sailin. Be sure your wire is heavy enough. Don't now what size mine is, but my "motor man" said it was perfect. So far, he's right.
