    Sorry I missed that one Rugs! Fish rarely drop all their eggs during the spawn. They will use the leftover eggs as energy reservoirs for the winter. They will produce a whole new supply of eggs for the next spring. I'm not exactly sure when the new eggs start being produced, but I would be surprised if it was before March 1st up here.

    thanks Mofishmgr.heard many reasons from many old timers as to why, now i know for sure.jake if you remember last spring while you were shocking fish, im the guy you ran into wading a couple times.catch a lot of fish wading smithville.

    It should be another good crappie year at Smithville. You'll have to see me when I'm fishing from now on. Management of Smithville was just transferred to St. Joe as part of our restructuring. I'll be working Blue Springs and Jacomo now instead.

    I enjoyed your informative posts regarding Smithville Lake . I hope the new position works out well for you . I know where to look for info on Jacomo and Blue Springs from now on . Keep up the good work !
