Think I'm going to give the kats a try today up on my end..I'll check the water when I take the kids to school.Got some rain last night and some water in my ditches,so I'm guessing the little platte is muddy and running.Gonna be cold and windy, good day to bundle up and drown some nightcrawlers. They seem to work better than shad early in the season after a rain.

Man,it was kinda chilly when the wind kicked up thur.
Tried fishing the main channel, current was very heavy, ended up having to use 3 and 4 oz. pyramid sinkers..had some hard hits, but no hookups..after about 5 minutes the line and hook was totally covered in debris..first heavy rain washed all the leaves and grass in and caught on the line.
Moved to a cove where there was a back eddy, did better...mainly carp but I did get 4 channel cats also.Car thermometer was 35 on the way home and winds were gusting about 20 mph at times..I only lasted 2 hours.

W ramp is open, looks like you can go long way north if allowed because of waterfowl
restricted area. still can't get thru going south.
