    Default temp on depth finder?


    i have 2 fish finders in my boat and they always read different on the temp.any ideas why? usually 6 to 7 degrees difference

    Mine too, I have two HB's the one on the rear reads about 4 to 6 degree higher than the one on front. I think it's in part due to the different depth of the transdusers. My rear sitting still is about 7" deep, the one on the trolling motor is about 18" deep. May not be ture but that's what I think. :D

    On the back of my boat if it's 50 degrees the one on the troller is 55 degrees. It's the depth that they are in the water.

    Take a thermoneter, put in the water and most depthfinders will let you caibrate you temp sensor.

    We go by surface temps to know when the spawn starts. If it's 60 on the surface 10' down it may be 55 or even 50 degrees. I have never checked what the temps are down deep is in the spring but I do have a pool thermometer that is weighted, I use it in the summer to find the cooler waters.
