    Default keeping crappie

This may be a dumb question, but I'm gonna ask anyway. What do you do with crappie you are keeping while you are fishing? My boat doesn't have a livewell. Thanks

Even though my boat has a nice big livewell I never put my fish in there. It is straight to the ice for my fish. I think it makes them easier to clean.

Ice chest is what is best then. I use my live well only until it's hotter than the places down below here and then I take an ice chest for fish. Once the water temps hit close to 90 the live well is not enough and our water get to 90 every summer.

I actually use my live well AS an ice chest. Just throw the bag of ice in with the plug in and pump in just a little water. Ice keeps the water cold and saves room on having a chest in the boat with me. Works well for me.

I like to put my fish in the livewell... kinda like an onboard aquarium.

... but if I didn't have an onboard aquarium, I'd put them directly on ice.

Some people just throw them in a bucket and keep them like that... I couldn't eat a fish that's been kept like that. *insert hurl emoticon here*
