Well guys had a good trip crappie fishing today. The water temperture was 48 degrees and the air temperature was around 49 degrees. Red and white crappie jigs and yellow and white, black and chartruse worked also. The fish was located in 30 foot of water between 15 and 23 ft. deep. It was raining all day and wind blowing still we caught fish. My nephew and I was the only two fishing. We caught a 100 crappie most were between 11-1/2inches and twelve.

Ken, looks like you hit the jackpot again. Thanks for the report. By the way, I think you were out of town for your birthday, but I posted you a happy birthday wish anyway and so did a few others.

Way to go, looks like all black crappie. Went to your profile to check on maybe where you are located, maybe you could update it with your state. I see you have almost caught up with me in age, I'm 75 and still kicking.

I'm in Idaho fishing in the Snake River, back waters of a Hydro Electric Dam.

Used a slipbobber setup at 25ft and caught a few fish. Most of the time threw out let sink to bottom and retrieved back. A slow retrieve was the key. I had a two hook setup with a split shot in between. I was using a 1/32 on top and a 1/16oz. crappie tube on bottom. Top one was a yellow and white tied with a loop knot. (yes this loop knot is the week spot) For those that may think thats the wrong way to tye on ajig. I have used this combonation for over 57 years. Then on the bottom was my red and white 1/16oz. tube crappie hook. I hope this helps some of you knew comers. You will catch fish. I posted on this sight we hooked over a hundred fish landed over hundred kept 94. Good luck fishing guys.

Wow, very nice! I've never really thought of Idaho as a crappie hotspot. I guess those little babies are everywhere!

Theres places all over here in Idaho where you can catch all most any fresh water fish. We have a lot of Ponds, lakes, Rivers, creeks, Resivour fishing behind several Hydro electric dams. Lot of our lakes and resivours has year round fishing. I went up north yesterday and picked up some baby chicks. I decided to fish for steelhead four a couple hours. Fished four hrs. Hooked 4 landed 3 kept one the others were wild.
