    Default Opinions needed!!!!!

I have an opportunity to get a 1986 15.25' Skeeter Bass boat with a 1989 90 HP Evinrude on it. The boat does need some work, but it comes with a 74 lb thrust 12-24V Minn Kota trolling motor (needs a... steering band? i think), a depth finder, a hot foot, and a jack plate.

The boat needs a clear coat, carpet, and two seats. The motor is supposed to be mechanically sound other than the tilt trim switch needs to be rewired or replaced one. Trailer is in good shape.

What do think this boat is worth? What would you give for it?

If the motor runs and compression is good I would say 2000 tops. I had a boat just like that years ago. Great multi-purpose boat.

Without consulting the blue book, and just off the top of my head, I wouldnt pay more than $2500 for it, and prefer to get it at about $2000. Just in case I wasnt clear, this is purely a WAG.

That's an awful lot of weather damage. I'd be scared to death of rotten stringers and transom.

i sold a 1987 skeeter with a 150 black max on it last year and it was in much better shape then that and only got $1400 out of it....i would say $1000 then its going to take another $1500 to get the boat back in shape...getting a boat recleared isnt cheap

It most likely is "worth" $1500-2000...but I personally wouldn't buy it...it will be a money trap with very little opportunity to recoup your money in the future.

If the motor is good I would agree it should be in the $1000 to $1200 range.

From experience, the best advice I could give you is look for another boat. You will be glad you did.

    Remember, you said opinions needed.

Wish you the best what ever you do.
