I cut and loaded 50 stalks of bamboo that I scored out of my friends yard. I also used some scrap lumber off my last trim job. Have a look at my next boat launch.

The bamboo is wrapped for transit purposes. I loosened the base and spread them in wet concrete. They will probably stay tight to one another even after I untie the shipping twine. Maybe once in the water awhile, they will self spread a bit. My first attempt to do this. Just adjusting Jerry and Darryls method a tad to fit my needs. Once the concrete has setup, I should be able to load all of it in the boat, launch, and go sink some stuff. That's if I don't sink the boat first. If that's the case, it will make one heck of a crappie area.

Really like the stake beds. We make ours in dish pans. After the concrete sets up you can remove the pans to be used again. I am going to build some of the bambo condos in the next few weeks. Keep us informed on how they work.

No oil needed...Just make sure they have set for at least 36-48 hours and then you can grab the BOO and stand on one of the sides of the dishpan and out will pop the base...If you do this too quickly, the base can crack when taking it ouf the dishpan...THis has been my experience.
