Wondering what everyone like to take to eat out on the water with them for a hard day of fishin'.

My favorite is a can of Chilee flavored Beenie Weenie, and bag of Funyun's onion rings, and an oatmeal cream pie snack cake... washed down with a nice cold Pepsi!:p

Second fave is a can of Sardines in mustard or hot sauce, a pack of cheese and crackers, and a rice krispie snack cake with a Pepsi.

You all are making me hungry

As I have not gotten to take my "new to me" boat out yet (man this is the worst winter), I don't know what I'll take...

Let's see - if it's just me, I'll have some vienna sausages (do they even still make these? :)), peanutbutter crackers, and some pop

If I take the kiddo - will have to do sandwiches and cookies - that will allow us to stop, anchor, and take a break to eat lunch to keep her interested :)

... it's usually a Ham & Colby on Wheat, and maybe some chips (usually Sour Cream/Onion, plain, or Cheddar Cheese ... usually Lays, but sometimes Pringles) and I've ALWAYS got a cooler full of Diet Pepsi or Diet Rite :p

I've done the Vienna's, Beanie/Wienie, PB&J, Sardines, and even KFC .... but, it's been forever ;)

My fishing partner Paul, usually brings a Bologna/Cheese or Pimento Cheese sammich .... (neither of which I can stomach :p )

... cp

I try to bring deer sausage or deer jerky, both homemade. That sausage makes a quick sandwich, and a good snack throughout the day if you stay as long as I do.
This year, however, I am going to do some goose jerky...also homemade. Don't knock it until you've tried it. Have to do something with all the geese we kill each year.

Gotta have Pbutter and crackers, twinkies, ice cold tea or hot coffee.
Sometimes a PB&J or bologna and Monteray Jack samich. If I'm rushed and forget to pack goodies I'll pull over to the restaurant on the lake and inhale
a prime rib sandwich and american fries!

Jerky - Trail mix nuts - H20

Bag of nuts works the best.... cut the top and you can "drink" the nuts from the bag instead of getting your fish hands in the can. ;)

In Winter I like something hot like Soup or Chili with Crackers or Cornbread. Add coffee and some water just to keep the system flushed. Add some kind of crackers, ect. for dessert.

The rest of the year I go for balogna, ham, peanut butter sandwiches. Sometimes beenie/weenies. Some chips. And a coke, mountain dew or water (several of them).

In the dead of summer I like fruits - bannanas, apples, pineapple. Kept cool of course. Lots of liquids.

Once in while my pard and I get tired of what we bring so we go to someplace on the lake where we can get a hot meal. But of course then we need a nap.

Until a couple of years ago, you descrbed my fishin lunch to a tee. After having a heart attack and by-pass surgery, I found out that one can of beenie weenies and one can of viennas had more sodium than I was allowed to have in a week. Even knowing this I still think that what you have is still the perfect fishin lunch. If you ever need the name of my heart doctor, just let me know. LOL

Leftover fried chitterlings........yum!

YUMMY!!! Plus there is the added benefit... if it is REALLY hot out, and you lay the aluminum foil wrapped chit'lins on the deck, in the direct sunlight, for a few hours, when you open the foil, the aroma will keep the skeeters off of ya'!!! :D

Now, I just grab whatever's handy. When I was a kid, my dad would always hit the drive thru of the local fried chicken place, the night before, and grab a big bucket of fried livers. He'd take them home and put them in the fridge, and we would eat cold chicken livers in the boat. Can't imagine why I decided not to continue this tradition after he passed away...

I really like the goose jerky my friend does. It's really good.

As far as me, give me a fried baloney sammich. Mayo and a generous amount of freshly ground pepper. A slice of homegrown tomatoes is just the icing on the cake.

gee I must be old fashion and slow cause I like to fire up the ol grill and throw on some beer brats and onions soaking in butter, put that on some healthy:D multi grain bread it only takes about 20-25 minutes to get thegrill nice and hot and aromas drifting across the lake then I finish it off with a big jar of home brewed ice cold sasafras tea, heck I dont even care if I aint catching anything after 3-4 brats;)

I'm right there with ya. A good sandwich and some Pringles or Doritos are hard to beat with some Little Debbie Snack Cakes thrown in as well. The eating has always been a major event on our fishing trips.

For me, alcohol is for when the fishin' day is done and I'm sitting at home and don't have to drive or operate a boat... plus we have an open container law on the water here in 'Bama, just like out on the road.
