    Default any south florida pointers

i'm an avid bluegill and shellcracker fisherman. i also fish the coast for snook, reds and trouts. most of the coastal seasons are closed right now, and i'd like to work on my crappie skills in the next few weeks. i'm hoping to bring home a few nice stringers between now and say march. any tips on lakes -- i know about okeechobee -- techniques and time of day to fish.

I think lake trafford in Imokelee would be closest to you.I usually catch plenty of cats from the bank but boaters come in with some crappie.Got no special trick, just use usual methods and locations.

    Thumbs down oscars?

i've caught more than i want. they fight plenty hard, but they're an exotic. i just can't give them much credence. i filleted a couple, but the meat looked odd. i just can't see myself eating aquarium fish. they do fight hard though, and they'll hit any lure you toss in the water.
