    Default Labrum?

I dislocated my shoulder at work, had a MRI, Dr. says I tore my antier and inferior labrum. Not sure of spelling on first two words. I go see surgon on Monday. Anyone have any experience with this?? I guess the labrum is the cartlage that keeps the shoulder from poping out.

Labral Tear - Torn Shoulder Labrum

Above is a good site to find info on your injury. As a perfusionist in a cardiac surgery program, one of my ancillary duties is to provide Platlet Rich Plasma for certain orthopedic surgeons. Many of the surgeries are shoulder or knee. Many are preformed with an endoscope. ( a camera on a long tool that does many things). It is a very reliable surgery that has been performed literally thousands of times a year. Get a good surgeon and ask about his sucess rates. Good luck.

My buddies doctor told him he had a 2cm tear in his and when they went to do the surgery found that the 2 cm is all that was holding the arm in place!!!!! Took 5 hours for the surgery, had 6 pins and even after a year of PT he's only got about 35% usage of the arm and not expected to get any better.
