Wow! What a great day. Jerry and I headed for Lake Greeson this morning at about 7:30. Stopped and cut enough bamboo for 2 mats, sunk them and then commenced to slaying the crappie. Caught about a dozen in about an hour on jigs. Sure was nice getting that thump, but had to get back to work. We ended up sinking 4 more mats and working on cleaning up and deleting some old GPS waypoints. On the way back to the boat ramp, Jerry spotted about a dozen turkeys. They split into two groups and half were cornered on a small island point. I grabbed my camera and Jerry let me off on the bank. While I sat real still behind a stump, Jerry ran around the other side in the boat to push them back my way. This is what I was able to get as 5 wild turkeys were running past me not more than three feet away. Very exciting. And, like grandpa always said, "If you go enough, you'll be there when it happens.

So true on the statement about going. Sunday was just one of those days that happen. I will have a bad day about one out of 10 outings on the home lake.

Twice recently I have been able to watch deer swimming across the lake. Mother nature is a beautiful site.

You're right that was mushrooms. Sauted mushrooms in butter and fresh rosemary topping the caserole. And, you know for sure the other is "just" for garnish to round out the meal as a whole, lol.

I wished everyone could have been here today. I'm no spring chicken, but today made me feel young and entergetic again. Can't wait till it happens again, and I know it will. Once in a lifetime events only occur if you let them.

Hey, I just realized I have that mpeg setting on my camera. That would have been better to show ya'll a short 60 sec clip of them running by. Oh well, live and learn.
