My original go-to's are all hair jigs -- gray, char, and one with orange/black/char for off color water. The first two plain or with silver on the body. Those are the three basics that have produced. I've also done well with Lindy's char glow Little Nipper (it has a white head, red thread neck and char tail).

thanks man. ive tried a few with chartruese, just havent zeroed in on the killer yet. thanks for the advice!!
I have thump it jigs that are white head/red thread neck/ and chart.black thin tail that are very good here year round and the female crappie love it when they are staging up. The males wouldnt hit it for anything though unless you verticle jig it and hit em on the head with while they are on the nest. Of course then they will hit anything!
