Shimano without a doubt.
Looking for opinions and reviews as which is the better reel, and by better I mean smoother , quiter, and tougher. The reels are the Shimano 1500 FB and the Pflueger Medalist 7030 (both same size and weight, both aluminum frame).
-thanks
Shimano without a doubt.
Sahara
I have both & didn't go wrong by buying either one both are great reels
I have 7 Shamano Symetre 750's..Can't beat them..I don't think they make a 750 Symetre any longer but the Sahara should do well..

When I keep my gratitude higher than my expectations I have a good day
I have used Shimano for 30 plus years, along with ambassadeur baitcasters. Both stand up to the punishment that we can give them. I have had many , probably over 20 shimano spinning reels and have nothing but good to say about them. From the tiny 500 series to the big Baitrunner reels for fishing salt water, they have NEVER failed me. High end or low end, they get my vote. Phlueger has been around for a very long time, and make a lot of good products. For my money, I'll buy a Shimano and learn to maintain it and have it for many years. As with any reel, loosen the drag when you are done for the day and the drag washers wont get compressed. This will keep the drag operating smoothly over it's entire life. I'm still using my Shimano Bantam 251 I bought when they were first released in the early 80's, works just fine.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
Shimano, they last forever.
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.
