Default Shearon Harris 2/8- White Perch and Crappie

Dan and I hit SH yesterday about 10:30 and found the docks have disappeared under the high water. No Problem to launch though - you just have to make sure you can back down straight.
Fished a slow troll out in 30 ft of water and found a huge bunch of white perch. We must have caught 20 or so in the first hour. I suppose if you needed some fish to eat, they would be keepers.
We did manage to catch a keeper crappie now and then and ended up with about 20 fish 10-12". Guess what- brown and Chartruese was the best color.
Talked to one other guy fishing minnows about 35 ft. who had a good mess.
Ran into Klu and his crew and noticed he had a new tackle box. Seems like he left it on the back deck of my boat last Thursday before we headed back to the ramp and it went for a swim on the way back.

Cool! I'd like to get out this weekend, but it's going to be chilly! And more rain on the way this afternoon. Oh well, got all my duck hunting stuff put away this past weekend, so I'm ready to do some fishing now. Just may try it this weekend, cold weather or not.

Is the water that you guys are fishing on as muddy as our lakes? We MIGHT have 6" of visibility.;(

Good job on the fishing. I'm ready to hit the water, but my boat is parked down at the barn and it is so muddy, I'm not sure I can get it up to the driveway.

As for water clarity, several of the NC lakes are for flood control and those are all backed up and dingy. Shearon Harris is for a nuclear power plant and doesn't have a large river flowing into it, thus rarely getting above normal depth.

Sounds like you had a fun day and got a good mess to eat. Beats staying at home.
