    Default Farm 13 -Stick marsh

    Hey All,,
new to this site just found it a few minutes ago,,
Are any of you familiar with the Farm 13 stick marsh area for speck fishing..
Been there a few times but seems the constant fronts moving in have given them lock-jaw the last few trips ,,Getting a few . Last trip no slabs either.
Any good ideas on where and how to fish this area?
Thanks for any info on this area seems to do well and havent been to the big lake since the storm last year hear it got tore up good,,

Welcome. I take a couple of fishing trips a year to Fla, and have bass fished Stickmarsh some years back. How is it, generally, for specks...have never tried them there. Looks like it ought to be a great speck fishery.

    Hey gary v.

This guy is on the stickmarsh almost everyday and a cool dude. There is a map on his site too and if you e-mail'm he will tell ya what's hot there and where to go. http://www.jimporter.org/

I fish it from time to time but Crooked lake has bigger crappies and I know crooked lake better.

I usually start watching the depth finder on the stickmarsh as soon as i get in the deep channel that seperates the stickmarsh from farm 13. And i watch for bait fish with bigger fish around the bait ball. Sometimes the crappies there will not hit a plain jig so I net a few minnows and cut them up and tip jigs with'm.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks Captgene,
I have talked to Jim a few times and bought a few of his jigs ( they do work great) and he does give a few tips but he mostly goes for bass, I was planning to go this week but the weather killed those trips hoping for better weather next week..
I have never fished crooked lake might try to make it up there a time or two to see whats going on..
I like the stick marsh its about an hour from my door to the ramp and pretty good fishing most trips...
Okechobee is almost 2 hours to the ramp we usually fish indian prarie when we go but have not been since the last few hurricanes , have not been hearing too many good things from the big lake since..
    Thanks
    Gary
