I remember sending in squirrel tails back in the early 70's....as a young boy. I believe they only gave a dime back then.

Yep poppop, I remember those days myself. Used to get 5 cents each from Old Earl, the fur buyer in Wolcott NY. He then sold them to Mepps. Guess I shoulda invested that money, but I think I bought muskrat lure.
Yeah did that for a few years myself, if you're gonna do the program make sure to follow their instructions or they won't take the tails!!!!
rcfillingham, I grew up in Medina and been to Wolcott many times.
Fatman
I know it's a great program, but you are a sick man! My dad never passes up a road kill. He stops and SNIP,,,another for the box in the freezer.
Darn! Illegal to sell squirrel tails in Texas.

Looks like a good way for them to get cheap supplies for their products. If I shoot any squirrels I just dry and keep them for my own use. I am guessing they don't have to pay wholesale and get them a lot cheaper even buying them from some guy selling to the big supply shops, but at wholesale they go for $1.25 each. So just a way for them to beat the cost of materials.
Skip
Especially when they trade for more lures.
