    Default stockton lake Ice and fishing report


    picked up ole buaamanmo at the crossroads this am. talked,planned where to go. worked out all the details before we got to lake, one detail we forgot.


    ice and lots of it. roark bluff, mutton creek, state park, main lake looked open, but ramps froze one guy was trying to unload no luck we all left, couldnt get to main lake brush because we couldn't get to main lake.

    who is buaamanmo?? YOU LEFT A TAD EARLY AT CROSSROADS. 2 GUYS GIVE ME A HARD TIME. WAS READY TO FIRE UP OLD SMOKEY WHEN THIS GUY PULLS UP BEHIND SMOKEY AND STARTS HOLLERING AT ME. GRABS MY 16 IN. CRESENT AND OUT I GO ONLY TO FIND OUT IT WAS BENDER. THEN HIS BUDDY RANDY APPEARS.

    Thanks for the phone call Beagle saved me from pulling the boat to Stockton and back. Sorry I missed you at the cross roads, I did get to visit with Buzzy for a little bit before Randy showed up and we had to take care of some business.

    Is the lake Ice free? What are water temps. I may visit next weekend.

    Lots of ice right now so only time will tell if it is open next weekend.

    Thanks Pole Bender. It's a 2 plus hour drive up there, I don't want to go if it is frozen! I would launch at Stockton Public Use Area. Is there any good crappie fishing on that end of the lake?

    It can be but the water is shallow maybe around 18 feet so it will get better as the water warms up. You would have to go toward the main lake to find deeper water.
