Default Kansas Lakes - Ice Out

Hey listen I would appreciate a heads up from you Jayhawk anglers, the weather is starting to look nasty, and I was planning a trip or two to Melvern or Perry before the Ice OUt, or IN, depending upon your point of view...

What is the word for Melvern and Perry, or that small one west of Melvern...Cedar something I think? Thanks in advance.

Jim,,, Perry is still slow as of last weekend. Your best bet is Melvern brush piles in 17 to 22 ft. Strong east winds tomorrow will make it tough fishing. I'm headed to Perry tomorrow. Should be able to get outa the wind there:D Just hope I can find something that will make them BITE!!! <*)}}}><

Thanks guys, CC you are probably right about the wind.

I think I waited too long to make it out there this year, looks like we are heading into a real cold snap starting Sunday.

Jim,,, It will be a while before we get enough ice to prevent fishing from a boat. As soon as the wind permits,,,I'll be at Melvern. Been hammering hybirds at Clinton. Really tearing up light action rods and drags:D No crappie schooled up in winter paterns yet. This cold snap should get them bunched up SOON!!! <*)}}}><

You are probably right Al, but man it is hard for me to get my old keester fired up when the wind chill is single digits! I guess if I had a buddy to share the rig and the work I would be more interested.

Al, lol about the dead sea, another guy and I share that term affectionately about Smithville in Missouri! Guess there has to be more than one!
