For what my opinion is worth. I like light, for vertical jigging with 10'-12' poles. For casting, ultra light any where from 5'-7' long depending on the type of fishing i'm doing casting open water the longer the better or using minnows with cork. If I'm working around docks or (shooting docks) then I go for the sorter length. I like to go as light a action as I can cause I like to feel the fish fight.

MY 2 CENTS WORTH AND THAT AIN'T WORTH WHAT IT USE TO BE...:D
    If you don't get hung every-once-n-a-while you ain't jigg'n it right..:D

What type fishing do you do mostly? I usually spider rig with about 8-10 poles and use various lenghs 7-13 ft so the baits will be staggered. Personally I like the very light poles. Easier on my worn out arms. LOL
Best thing to do is get up with someone that has an assortment rigged up and see what they feel like. You will know as soon as you pick it up whether you will like it or not.

You know, the action is more key to me than the brand, i.e. L, or UL.

I want a fast taper, no gd buggy whips.....and I don't care about length, the same basics apply...Stout buts, fast tips...

sounds like a porn movie, lmao....
