    Default Bobby Garland Mold


    What would be the best type mold/mold material to make a very good Bobby Garland Baby Shad. Not looking to sale baits, just want ot make my own. Thanks.CF

    I would say either an RTV mold or a resin mold of some sort

    Would it need to be a two piece mold? How would You make it a two tone mold? Thanks.CF

    I would use Clear Cast resin and a one piece mold. I'm working on one now so ill post when I'm done.

    I made one out of plaster of paris that turned otu ok I just dont have the plastic yet to try it out

    Yeah, That is what I was thinking Pop. How can You make a one piece mold that would not produce a tail with a flat top? I sure ain't the pro here and am trying to learn all I can before I get into this. the BGBS is My favorite bait and would love to learn how to make My own. The initial cost of tools and materials might be kinda high but as high as those baits are in price, it would not take long to cover the cost of production. CF

    Ditto, the BGBS has proven itself to be my altime favorite, want to follow up also.

    You make a hand pour it will have to be a top pour with the back side of the bait up extend the tail lenght about 1/2 inch so material will flow it won't compeletly fill up the best way is to use to small table spoons metal ones to layer the color's in that You desire.
