    Default long line trolling

Can you catch crappie long line trolling in the winter, or do you have to watch for a certain water temp to catch fish?

We troll all winter. Sometimes you find them in deeper water and have to slow down or use heavier jugs. At other times you will find them in shallow water, lets say 8-10 ft. A few warm (this is all relative) days in a row is good. You may troll one day and catch 10-15 and other days 50-60 using the same technique. Changing colors helps at times but sometimes they just will not bite anything.

Yep, I long-line 99% of the time from Sept. through spring.
