Question "Crappie Nibbles", or anything of that nature

You all know what they are, scented, maybe even sparkly baits to put on the end of a jig. Well, I was reading Crappie Magazine, and it said that they could really help. Before, I only used the baits for bream. So...does anybody have a "homemade" kind of the bait? I dont really know if anyone has ever tried this. I know poeple make their own stink bait for catfish. Any ideas?

We use the crappie nibbles all the time, sometimes they get hard to get around here and and we act like crack heads trying to get some LOL. we never use minnows on our jigs anymore.

There are days when it certianly helps to have them. If you cant afford to buy them (a jar lasts me forever) how about growing your own wax worms. I prefer the wax worm to a nibble most any day.
