If you are "starting" out your Crappie fishing at Weiss Lake, then you are certainly in one of the best places for them !!
Best advice I can give you is :
Learn the layout of the lake - it's shallow & stumpy in places, making it a little tough to navigate safely (at times and in certain places)
Learn to slow troll jigs along the channel edges - it's the way most guides fish the lake.
Learn to "shoot" docks, and which docks to shoot - at times, you can limit out on one dock.
And be sure and keep us updated on your exploits .... luck2ya ... cp

Thanks everyone! I live in south pittsburg tn. 6 miles from the Alabama line,as you could imagine i have tons to learn so lets get started!!!When you guys say slow trollin, are you fishin straight down bumping bottom or do you let out alot of line to keep the lure away from your boat? And you say on the edge of the channels, are you fishing the flats just before or the actual channel itself?
PAPPY... I see your'e wearing a short sleeve shirt in your photo, so crappie isn't just a cold weather fish huh! Just wondering why everyone wants to go during the winter months.
