Default Striped Bass Fishing in Rivers

I have caught a few tiny striped bass wih grubs meant for panfish. I have also caught small stripers with nightcrawlers. What lures and baits are suitable for striper fishing in rivers? The water in the river is muddy.
    Panfishing is fun!

A chartreuse swim-shad (plastic bait) is what I use when the Ohio river is muddy. And any live bait that is indigenous to your river system should work just fine.
