    Default Lake Harney

    Well,
Went, fished, caught two, one 12", the other 10".
Did hook a nice catfish that put up a real good fight, got off the hook right at the boat.
Was hanging minnow with weight about a foot off the bottom (as we drifted), looking for a catfish, hooked the 12"r, possibly big-uns hanging on bottom (8-9ft), however, didn't catch any more.
Was a real nice morning, cool but not cold, small breeze.
Water real high, only slightly lower than last year's flood stage after storms.
Was good to get back out there even if it was somewhat lacking in catch ratio. Only going to get better from here on.

    Default Hey Danny

I heard that they were doing good on Jessup and also getting
    some on Monroe.
    Have you heard any reports?

    Hi Joe;
Nope, I get more info off this forum than I get around here locally.
While at the bait shop yesterday morning the owner said "they're catching em on "Fox Lake".
Well, Fox Lake is just around the corner from my house, and my fishing buddy fished it last week, and, buys his minnows at this bait shop, so, am, pretty sure he's the source of the bait shop's info.
But he says he got around 17 mid sized ones. Only problem I have with fishing small lakes is small sized Crappie (actually Mid sized) ,but, a mess is a mess.

You are right. If the fryer is hot they are all good.
Maybe I will get a chance to go in a few days.
My problem with Jessup is knowing wher to go. The lake [at least what I have fished] is mostly shallow. To me this makes it hart to find fish in a large lake like this. The report says fish around Bird Island. Most of the water I have fished around the Island is very shallow.
Oh well maybe I will figure all this out eventually.
    Joe
