4 Jan 10 Alamo Lake

Hit the lake again today with my friend Bob and caught them where we left off yesterday. We caught 32 Crappie and only took home 28. The water temp was 52.2 when we got on the lake at 0715 and 54.2 when we left at 1530. The wind was non existant until 1330 and then it picked up a bit. Biggest fish was 2lbs 2 oz. Great couple days on the water. Back to work tomorrow.

I've heard that the crappie bite starts at Alamo first before the other lakes. Sounds as though there might be some truth to that. Do you think it's a little early or not?

Never been to Alamo so guess one day I need to make the drive....

I have never really caught them this early in the year. So I am a bit puzzled myself.

Very nice haul... I grew up in Flagstaff and remeber going to Alamo not long after the dam was built. I think it was built in 68 and we were hitting it in the early 70's. Whenever I hear Alamo mention it makes me home sick.... Remember the Alamo...lol:D
