Default where do you guys think its more important for the weight?

how do you guys view it?

tandem jigs at weight to run depth? single heavier?

smaller weights on jigs and get to depth with egg sinkers/split shots/etc?

obviously with heavier tandem jigs you would have to go main line hook ties.

so...weight at hook point or better else where?

i've caught 'em both ways. different days/different ways.

I think everyone has their favorite for different setups/rigs.....

All fishing equipment is designed to catch fishermen...IMHO....

This is my favorite for spider riggin....

I use the weight 90% on the bottom but there are times I will use it in the middle. The times that I place the weight in the middle are times that I'm fishing flats that I know there are no chance for hang ups.

RNVINC, WHAT OZ. WEIGHT ARE YOU USING IN YOUR SETUP? I HAVEN'T USED THAT KIND OF WEIGHT BEFORE BUT CAN SEE WHERE IT WOULD BE A GOOD SETUP.

I make them myself....3/8 oz.....keeps the line very verticle at the speeds that I spider rig....

Very few hangups also with the flexible weight....

Cool

For trolling here's how I like it. The jig or minnow is free to float behind.
you can adjust your depth by your speed, which I like about 1.5mph.
You can rig this with 2 jigs but it can be a mess when you get tangled.

Cool

We also have used Rocky Top tubes with success and live bait.
I believe the winners at the TSCC (Texas State Crappie Championship)
did well with live bait one day.
That made it twice we were beat by spider rig slow trolling last year.
Mr. Marshall seems to swear by it too.
He usually knows what he's talking about.
It will be a staple for us this year.

I only fish one jig per pole spider-rigging, this is what I use, thats a rubber band in the lead to snug it to the line.
