    Default Whats watts

If I had a depthfinder that provided 250 watts RMS output and 2,000 watts of peak-to-peak output and showed good detailed display's.
QUESTION???? What will 500 Watts RMS output and 4000 Watts Peak-to-Peak output improve? I want to know, will the display provide more user information or look any different?
I've seen downward shots on expensive depthfinders that are VERY simular to the 250/2000 units. -the pretty colors of course...

More power can give you more depth range and better resolution. In freshwater, depth isn't really an issue. By better resolution, I mean that the sonar can distinguish between two objects at close to the same depth so you can see things like a fish near the bottom or near a limb more distinctly. IMO, power is not that big a deal. Other features, particularly pixel count and screen size do more for me.
