Better days coming for you rugs. Nice job gettin out though.
Well, I tried, it's about 15 deg. wind wasn't bad but enough. Busted a couple of holes in the ice at the dock tried couple hours, did have some bites, almost got one out of the water. I would have been happy with the 6" little guy just to say I caught one, but he got away.
Sorry Speck I tried. Good luck if you are out tomorrow.

No worry's Rugs it is better to fish and not catch any then to not fish at all. Better luck next time you will get on them.
Still sounds like a good day Quinn. Its alot colder up there than here. It was a balmy 22 degrees when I got to the boat ramp this morning.

better days a commin. just 120 days till spring camp
Time to break out the ice fishing gear and hit the smaller lakes with safe ice . :D
That's Ok, it is a really small lake, little too big to call it a pond.
Problem with this lake is that there are so many geese that when it freezes it has to be really cold for many days in a row. Bad for Ice fishing, but has open water most of the time in the winter so I can fish year round.

With the cold weather and temps below 20 degrees for several consecutive days ahead , ice fishing shouldn't be a problem , no matter what the open water tradition is on smaller area lakes .
As long as it is protected from the wind and doesn't have any current , it should freeze over to have safe ice.
I ice fished for many years when I lived in Mi. before I moved to Tn. back in 1991. I'm no stranger to winter fishing through the ice or in open water.
