    Default WANTED: Good jighead

What i need is a good head that has a hook that bends easy enough to straighten with 4lb line. I usually bend the hook back and forth on my new heads when I tie them on so they will pull free from cover easier. If anyone knows what brand work good for this or you know of some heads that can take the abuse of bending back and forth alot let me know. Thanks, Daniel

The Eagle Claw 570 and 575 jig hooks are designed just for that purpose!... and that's why I use them on my jigs instead of the sickle hooks.

These are some that I pour myself. The top jig has a extra light wire hook made by Eagle Claw. The center one has a sickle hook and the bottom is a regular wire hook from Eagle Claw. I like the light wire the best it will pull free very easy!

The model number of the hooks is 1350-M Specials. They come from Simmons Sporting Goods in Bessemer Alabama. Simmons Sporting Goods Home Page

I don't pour my jig heads and I don't use soft plastic much at all (even though I have tons of it), but I know TTI-Blakemore uses the hooks they do so it will bend easy enough and of course they use True Turn, but don't know what number they are. I get my Roadrunner heads from them so I know a bit about them. Plus I have used Roadrunners since the ,id-early 1970's at least.

If you end up wanting to know I can find out for you what number they use in True Turn and they are sharp enough.

Simmons has a lot of great stuff. So does the new BPS in Leeds about 20 miles from B'ham.

Never heard of the 1350 specials, I didn't see them at Capt Hooks, Maybe I'll send them an email to see if they carry them or not.
