Is it possible to cut a guide out of a rod and replace it? What kind of thread/glue do ya'll recommend. I just bought some rods and reels from a friend who needed some money. On two of the rods the plastic is missing out of the guides. One is a St. Croix and the other is a Falcon.

Send LipRippers a pm. He's a master rod builder and a good guy. He'll help you out.

This should be moved into the archives before it gets lost.

Thank you TLR I am gonna try and repair those rods, I'll probably do some test runs on some old rods. If I run into any questions I will be sure and pm you, that is some good info glad it is in the archives.

If you call the St.Croix Factory and Falcon they would probably send you replacement guides.....I have done that with GLoomis and they sent me replacement guides....
If you have not done this before..I would buy some old rods from a garage sale and practice on them....it hurts to damage a good rod...especially a St.Croix !!
