stren sonic braid is all I use. 8 lb test=1 lb mono diamater. glides through the eyes and casts just as good as mono in my opinion.

Yes we do use braided line, we both prefer power pro in either 8/1 or 10/2.

tae73 do you like braided line because of the sensitivity or abrasion resistance? also do you use the dark line or yellow? thanks

We use it for several reasons no stretch, no memory, very durable using around metal docks. It has one disadvantage and that is its tough to break when you get hung up or snagged. Color of line does not matter to the fish, I like the white or yellow.

I use the Power Pro 10# Green. I have no trouble seeing it. The 2# diameter is plenty small for the fish too. The braid line will help the jig fall at a much slower rate too. I think the fish prefer a slower falling bait.
