    Did they come out of the river or backwater? A friend who has a camp at Cook's Bend said they had been catching some bigger one from the ledges in the river itself than in the sloughs.

    All of these came out of the old dead river(what was left when the new river cuts were made)and the creeks feeding into the river. I caught these around the Cochran landing, about 10 miles from Aliceville. They all came out of 9 to 13 feet of water. Was using a jig with an orange head, gold sparkle chennile body and a chartruese tail. The limit on crappie is still 30 but the limit on coke cans has been raised to three. LOL
