It only takes a few minutes with water and air temps where they are for a fun fishing trip to turn in to a nightmare.
Always a good idea to have a disposable lighter in the boat if you have to make a fire.
soak a roll T-P or cut a roll of paper towels in half. soak in a little keo not soggy just let soak up good. put in a coffe can place in boat. it will get you a fire started in just about any weather. remove from boat when you get home sit out side and load it up when you go again. saved my tail one time.
I would only add that adding the ladder to my boat gives me a lot more confindence in case I fall in the cold water, believe me it is a bit-- to try and climb back in a boat....... I carry a small propane heater in my boat to keep my hands warm....... better than any hand warmer I have ever tried.....
A FISH IN THE PAN IS WORTH TWO IN THE LAKE
Great advice everyone. To expand on the dry clothes, remember the old addage" Wool warms, cotton kills". Wool will keep you warm even when wet. Wet cotton will zap the heat from your body. Also layers will be warmer than bulk.
