    Default Yamaha customer service

I need to replace my prop after beat the he** out of both of my aluminum props on the river. Decided to go stainless so I called Yamaha to inquire the best pitch for my boat. Jeff at Yamaha customer service was very helpful. he asked what pitch was on my boat now. I told him. He the asked how many rpm's I was turning wide open. Told him I wasnt sure because I have no tach on my boat. He said, "Let me help you out then." he asked for my address and said, "I'm sending you a new tach from Yamaha. No charge." WOW!, I was floored. That is a $150 tach. He said they changed the style of tachs for my motor and still have a bunch of the old style. left. He told me to get my rpm's to 6000 wide open and planed out for determining the optimim pitch. I'll be using Yamaha from now on.

Sounds good. My advice is always free too. It's not always "you get what you pay for".

I think it's great when people post about good customer service. It certainly seems the man you talked to went above and beyond, congrats!

    I wouldn't trade my 150 VMAX for nothing, well, maybe a 200 VMAX! :D
