I caught that crappie in jan 1996, A good friend of mine from NC, Bruce Robbins and i were fishing rosevelt lake, caught this slab and it was 17.5 inches long, the girth was 15 inches, the weight was 4.93 , 0r 4.14oz didnt know it at the time, but it was a new state record, no big deal, we thought the record was over 5 lbs,, till my taxademst called me, asked what i wanted to do, i told him mount it, a state record dont mean much to me as long as that fish is on my wall, heres a pic of the string we caught that day

That's awesome. I have never been to Roosevelt. I look forward to hitting it this year and experiencing the joys :D

    Default Crappie Fishing

    To Arizona anglers,

I am retired Navy and in Phoenix on business for a week. Looking to do some fishing and I don't have my gear with me. Is there a local guide around or if anyone is looking for a partner for this coming weekend I am willing to help with gas.

I currently live in Washington and I don't do a lot of Crappie fishing except in the spring/summer. I looked into the area and most say its either Crappie or Bass and Im not much of a Bass guy. I like Walleye, Crappie, Bluegill, Perch and Pike. Originally from Iowa. Let me know when or if anyone gets a chance. Thanks.

    Joe Heater, Retired USN
Just get me on the water and I will be okay.
    Good fishing everyone.
    Joe
