Buy the coldest Under Armour you can get! Get the hoodie also! I know I thought I wouldn't like it but I love it! Get the socks, put them on first then put a regular pair on over them. I wear just a pair of tennis shoes and my feet stay warm.

Got my wife the whole 9 yards also! She is always cold! LOL one morning heading to the lake about 3 am it was about 26 degrees, she had the air on in the pickup plus her window down and I was doing 70 mph!

    Sure cuts the wind!

Granted it was costly to get socks, pants, shirt and hoodie for each of us. But the reason we purchased the Under Armour was because I like to fish out of the boat early and late in the season. And a good pair of heavy Carhartt cover alls don't mix well with life vests. I just put the Under Armour on under a pair of Wranger jeans and shirt with a jacket. I stay warm at running 30 mph on the water at 28 to 30 degrees.

I like them, and the socks are real nice, real nice, the rest of the gear is great, hasnt been cold enough this year to really judge the worth of the top and bottoms, the hoodie is nice, like the pouch , so far so good.

I've always used plain old polypropylene underwear from Cabelas.

Under armour gear is pricey, but it's well worth the money. The knock offs are good, but get the real thing if you can. I have several different things they make and they all work great. They will keep you warm. As far as your feet, get the socks and 400 gram of so boots, your feet will be sweating.

I did spend a winter in Texas, at Ft. Wolters, Mineral Wells, in 1971, and it got cold and sleeted once, but do your lakes ice over?
