You'll have to wait a few days ... the rains, from the remnants of the hurricane, brought the lake up several feet. A couple of days ago, Don told me that the lake had been drawn down a few feet by the TVA (prior to the rains) ... but after the rains, the water level was more than 3ft over the dock walkway !! (about a 6-7ft rise from the rains). ..... give it until next week, and it should be back down where it belongs - and the fish should start coming back in. The surface temps are still a bit high ... but a week of 40 & 50 degree nights should temper that down pretty quick. ...cp

Thanks, CP for the report. All of the dams on the Tennessee river are spilling. Norris and Melton Hill are not, so I will go to one of them this week and wait to next week to go to Watts Bar. Conner

    Default Rising lake levels

Speaking about rising lake levels due to Ivan, my favorite crappie lake, an Army Corps lake, went up 32 feet! Unbelievable, our flood levels were the 3rd highest ever recorded. Local river was 8 feet above flood stage, and 18 feet higher than it was prior to Ivan.

Hey I am taking my wife to Watts Bar or Down on Cotton Port this weekend for my birthday. Please post your results if you get anything. And good luck. Last week at the dam I hung a huge crappie on a 200 series Bandit with lots of bait fishing schooling up around the area. myabe that will help. Good luck!!
If in doubt, cross their eyes!!
