    Default Other than nibbles

Anyone use any other attractive other than nibbles like honey worms or gulp? I'm talking about manmade ones. I have some honey worms that I use to tip my jigs when I'm fishing for brim and it just came to me to try it when after crappie.

    Dog Food
I read an article some time back about baiting using dog foot to attract shad which in turn attracts the crappie. I get the wife's nylon stocking that have seen better days and put solid dog food in them and tie off after placing some gravel in for weight.

The article was using plastic container with hole in it that could be refilled as needed. With the stocking don't have to worry about somebody finding your chum bucket and using for their catching. Frequently place in three or four diffferent locations and with in short time the shad are congregating.

Received reports of people catching some nice fish on spots that I have placed chum out on, many do not even know where my 'spots' are.

I Bought Some Cheap Mesh Bags At The Dollar Store And Use Them For
Chum When I Night Stalk. I Grind Up Shad, Minnows, Bluegill Or Whatever
Fish I Can Find And Freeze Them. When Its Time To Nightstalk I Take The
Chum Out Of The Freezer And Hang It Over The Side In One Of The Mesh Bags.
I Think It Attracts The Minnows And Crappie Quicker Than With Just The
Lights. I Have Used Dogfood In A Mesh Bag For A Few Years, But I Think The
Chum Works Better. I Also Read A Comment From A Guy In Crappie Magazine
That Said He Uses Corn Instead Of Crappie Nibbles To Tip His Jigs Or
Minnows. Dont Know If It Works But I Am Gonna Try It, If I Can Remember
    When The Time Comes.

I use crushed dog food in panty hose stolen from my wife. I tie them to my condos with stainless steel wire. I make my own crappie nibble with red sponge cut into ovals and soaked in sardine oil. It works very well.

I do use the Gulp Maggots the smaller size ones for tipping my jig's for crappie and larger ones for walley.I also like to use Kodiak paste (minnow & shad flavor) when using tube jig's.
:D Give a man a crappie you feed him for a day...teach a man to fish for crappie and get rid of him for the weekend!!!

The only thing we've ever caught on Gulp is green sunfish.
Nibbles work okay, but I'd rather use waxworms. What re honey worms? - Roberta

They should be beside the nibbles in a jar that looks almost like them. At least at our Wal-mart.
