Now that is a nice stringer of fish!
what was the water temp?
Fishing was a little slow to start with but got better after dinner. Ended up with 24 nice Crappie and one 3 to 3-1/2 lb cat. Lost a few to soft mouths and they just came off at the surface. Caught them about 4 ft down in 14 ft of water.

"Be Ye Fishers of Men" You catch them- He will clean them
just fished off the dock today, was not out on the water with the boat.

Nice catch.
I got a question. The mouths of those fish look red or pink. Is that how they really looked and is that typical of White Crappie in your area.? Or maybe is that due to being on a stringer? Is it just the picture? Just wondering, never seen that before. White Crappie are very rare in my area and I never use a stringer.
Howja gettum?
Sorry for my Crappie attitude.
Nice stringer of fish EB...Life is good.

Eager Beaver,Real nice stringer there. Are they all whites that you catch over there? Pomoxis, That red around the mouths is from the stringers. Here is 2 stringer's I have gotten lately and there mouths are the same.Originally Posted by Pomoxis

Not sure about the stringer theory. These fish were caught in 56º water, and kept in a livewell all day. Still floppin' around when they were put on the table - same "red mouth" syndrome:
Wonder if it has more to do with being "lipped"?

I also think this cold water is playing a big role in the redness too.The ones I had in the live well had a little red like yours too. Last time I had the boat out a week ago the water was anywhere from 54 - 48.

I just fished off of the dock and had them on a stringer all afternoon. There are both White and Black Crappie there you just can't see the Black's. Maybe they are a little camera shy would be my guess. Ha Ha! The lake is down about 3 or 4 ft so have to swing them up on the dock and a few pulled off, but got most of them in. Very few small fish. Only threw about 6 back all afternoon.
