It would make a good float-n-fly rod. I have a similar rod and use it a lot for throwing jigs and soft plastics for bass and as a river trout rod. I like the longer rods for shore fishing.
need some advice on my 9ft. diawa rod med.
would this rod be any good for crappie fishing from shore?
I bought it for salmon fishing in lake michigan & didnt get much use out of it yet. dont get to L.M.much its a pain in the but trying to park by the harbors.

I wouldn't go any smaller than a Shimano 1000 TX real on it. Any smaller reel and it would defeat your purpose, besides not having enough line on them. EB
