Weiss Lake has rebounded in my opinion from what it was a few years ago.
Most fishernen I talked too on our trip 16,17,18 agreed.
We got about 30 keepers on Sun. a near limit on Mon. and 28 on a short day Tue.
Probably caught about an average of 50% keepers.
Had motor trouble at first day launch. Broke shift and throtle cable. This limited our movement.
Fished mostly Hog Island out from JR'S Marina. Had fish up to 15 IN. Most were
10-11 inches.
Well satisfied with the trip.
I fished with Jigs and buddies fished with minnows. Mostly drop shot at 14 foot
on drop offs.

what caught more the jig or minnow and what color jig?

Used mostly black and chartruse. Jig held its own on Mon, but was not as effective on Sun and Tue.
I would rather use jigs even if not as effective.
In the spring I feel they almost always catch more fish.
