Hey Guys New here
Got A ? for any of you guys , Just got a Garmin 430S,with the inland maps,
and wanted to know if anyone was using the Fishing hot spots for these units ? Thinking about getting the cd or sd for mine, are there any other maps you guys use for the alabama lakes ? that would go with this unit,
also if anybody has this unit let me know any good or bad about it & how it works for you.

I have a Garmin 498C and an S.E. US inland lake data card. Also have the Mapsource CD. Not really sure what you mean by the Hot Maps. The Mapsource CD I have has some fishing hot spots mapped, but I can't say they are of much value. My CD is old though. Maybe there is a later edition.
Thanks guys didn"t know if I was just a new guy & nobody wanted to talk
to me ,

I have a Garmin 76CSX. I would try the Garmin web site first for your particular unit. Once you know what card or CD your unit uses, you can shop on e bay or wherever. I bought the lake maps for my unit from e bay. I do not believer Garmin calls their maps hot maps. I believe that is Navionics. I bought the flash drive for my Garmin. I really like my unit and use it constantly.:D It is espically helpful at night to find the ramp!
Navionics is the best and if your unit will work with it then I like the HD or platinum maps because they have the elevation lines in one foot increments so any really good depth change shows up really easy to see. I know they cost more, but if it is not too hard on your pocket that is the way to go and if that is too much then I would take their next best maps.

Hey Harley, I'm kinda new here too & wondered if my first few posts were being shunned. Ther'e not. These folks here are great and very helpful when you ask for help (believe me, I've been asking a lot lately, just got a new-to-me boat, haven't had one in many years so I'm starting over). Good working folks here, give them a chance and you will love this forum.
