Their website says European. I copied this Q & A from their site.

    Q. Are Parsun Outboard Motors interchangeable with any other major outboard brands?
    A. Yes. Many of the Parsun Outboard Motor components are interchangeable with other major brands, particularly Yamaha Outboard Motors.

From what I'm reading about them you couldn't give me one. But they do make some interesting electric outboards.

Looks like a Tohatsu, or a Nissan more than a Yamaha. Actuallyb Tohatsu make almost all the major engine companies smaller engines and some of them all clear up to the 20 horse power.

If you need to go with a lower price outboard, go with a Nissan outboard. They are cheaper than what you are looking at, ship for free, and are simple to get parts for. I bought one online about a year and a half ago, and it has been very reliable. Starts easy, runs great, and sips very little fuel. I had to replace some parts a while back after hitting a stump at Reelfoot, parts were reasonable, and shipped in about a week. I was a little skeptical at first, but I have had no regrets yet! Good luck!
