I've heard it's not a good idea to stock crappie in a pond any smaller than 50-75 acres

about 3 years ago i stocked black crappie in a 3 and 1/2 acre pond. They went in at 2 -3 inches, 8 months later, they were 10 inches. Reason being, they had an abundent food source, i didnt over stock. The fish wont start spawning for 12 to 24 months anyway. i put approximately 200 in, still catching them anywhere from 9 -13 inches. They have to have food.... Try to fish any cover in deep water, give them food they are used to. Any questions, pm me
