hookin your minners

me an the wife got to arguein bout how the best way to put a minnow on a hook,so i thought i'd ask an see how ya'll are doing it.

Used ta hook 'em in the middle of the back, but as of late, we've been doing it right down through there noggin'. They stay alive for quite sometime both ways, however if you hook it wrong through there back you can miss the spot and they bleed and die real quick!

I try 3 different ways at differnt times just to see if I can tell a difference..
1. Through the lips just a little deep but not so much as to kill them..
2. behind the dorsal... find the balance point so they hand horizontal..
3. in the tail.. makes them wiggle like through the lips but other way ..

I'm a noob so if some spert comes on with something better do what they say..

On a jig I hook them through the lips....on just a hook..I hook then just below the dorsal fin.

I have always hooked them right through the eyes. Maybe not alot of guys like this method, but always works for me!

Gently through one eye through to other eye and out. BB

I start in the tail, then move to the barely hooking in the dorsal fin area. If that doesnt do it, I hook em right behind the head. Also if you are catchin' fish and get down to dead minnows, hookem right behind the head you can still catch fish that way.
