Default Anybody ever see a kicker mounted to a bass hull?

Most of today's boat's - say in the last 10 years have either a concave transom with sponsoons on the side, or an extented transom like the Ranger pultruded type.

Been rolling around getting back into the bass boat hull business, but can't quite figure out how I'd mount a kicker to troll cranks off of it. Only thing I can come up with is to have a plate fabbed that would mount between the hull and motor and carry out past the sponsoons on the transom, assuming that wouldn't limit the travel on the big motor.

I'm kind of tired of driving 35 and it takes a real long time to cruise around and see where everyone else is fishing.

I haven't seen pictures, but have heard of some guys doing that.
I'm sure it would take some load balancing to get it to ride level and
not do funky things running on the pad... I know a kicker makes my tub
ride sideways until I fill up the front livewell 31 gal on the opposite side/front
and I don't even have much v at the back.

Hadn't thought about the weight deal, but I'm talking about a relatively low performance hull - 21 or 22 ft, Ranger 522, Stratos 201. I would imagine that I could either move batteries or equipment to rebalance it with a sub 100# kicker though.

I ran over a slap bang up deal on a Hawk 21 with a 225 Optimax on the cheap, but even with the DI, it'd still eat your lunch trying to troll with it, plus you'd be eating up the useful life of a very expensive outboard. Got me feeling awful froggy considering it'd be less than I paid for my G-3.

Go for it dude :D Merc pro-kicker w power trim and elec start ought to
not be but around 115 lb. Course you could go with a T8, but then it'd
make the big Merc look bad... :D

Hmmmm, J you coming to fish the FJ Saturday week? If so, schedule some extra time and I'll bring you back to the house with me so you can talk me up to the wife. If not, what time you get off work and I'll come and get you.

I'd love to help you man, but I'm afraid I wouldn't be much help -
    might even hurt the cause.

Every time I even start to tell my wife about something I need to buy,
she jumps in with "Let me guess. It's JUST what you've always wanted,
what you've really been needing, it's a real deal, and it's the last one
    made, RIGHT?" :p

Default Just what you need Banker

Another boat. Take you 6 months to get it rigged up, then you've have to sell all your Fish finders and GPS's to buy new one's cause the ones you got now wouldn't be good enough for that ne boat. Might better reun all this by wifey to make sure it's OK with tha Queen
