Get a can of Deep Creep (Autozone or Napa) and follow the instructions. Like Piroque said, do not do it on your drive way, it makes a mess. If you need to do a thorough job here are the instructions.:http://www.iboats.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ul...;f=36;t=000006

SeaFoam is about the best there is to clean out carbon. Used on old outboard had and then the other day truck mechanic recommended using it on the truck.

I did this last fall....run your motor with the ear muffs on for about 10 minutes at idle just to get it warm. spray the Sea Foam into the intake a little at a time. you'll need to work the throttle to keep the motor running. Once it starts to smoke really good , like a mosiguito fogger, shut the engine off and let it sit until it's cool again. Repeat this until you use the whole can. The next time you put the boat in the water you will still get a lot of smoke but that's just the rest of the carbon burning off. I got this method from www.iboats.com forums.

Sea Foam.... If it doesn't work.... you'll need tools.
