    Default Chowan NC WMA?

Anyone here have any knowledge of the Chowan WMA? Apparently 27K acres along the river? We're in Va but looking to move down south to get out of the crowd here in SE Va.

    Hows the hunting there?

    Crowd?

    Access?

Type of terrain? wet, thick, swamps etc....?

    thanks

I've fished all up and down the Chowan but never heard of that. Where is it?

Just about all swamp that I know about , seen some hunt from boats up in the creeks etc, can`t hunt on the river, ckeck the laws.......... bear / deer
Me personally I don`t want to be in the swamp with a bear ! they can swim and climb trees !

    Default swamp

Kinda thought it moght be a lot of water.... I do several boat trips here in va each year so going by boat isn't too bad for us. Not a big fan of wading through warm swamp water in the dark though....

Many years ago I tried doing some deer hunting in a Wildlife area along Rt 13. It was all swamp and loaded with bugs. It got so bad I was breathing them in. Needless to say I didn't stay in there very long.

I going to do a fly over this week, hope to be able to see through the trees enough to determine what we're dealing with..
